Long Island Lacrosse Club Youth Teams

Long Island Lacrosse Club Youth Teams:
The Historic Long Island Lacrosse Club has partnered with the Port Washington PAL to offer a highly competitive Elite Club Lacrosse Team for Youth Teams.
Rules of the Club:
  • To be eligible to be a rostered player, a player must NOT play on any other club lacrosse team. This does not include certain "town" events and league that a player may play. If a player is found to be playing for another club lacrosse team, it can be grounds for immediate dismissal from the team, without refund.
  • No player is guaranteed a set amount of playing time; Playing time is earned in practices, game performace, and coaches make determinations based on a variety of criteria including but not limited to skill level, game situation, etc.
  • If you are involved on other sports teams, you can arrange your schedule around our practices and tournaments. If it is found that a player is missing his practices or games to attend another sport event, this may result in reduced playing time at the discretion of the coaching staff.
  • Our team counts on you for practices, games, tournaments and friendlies; if you will be late or absent we ask that you update your availability in the team snap and use the notes section to explain your absence.
  • We have a rigorious schedule so that we can get the team playing at a high level. You must go above and beyond our scheduled season workouts and be practicing on your own to develop your stickwork and conditioning.   lalalalalalalala

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide our youth athletes with a premier lacrosse experience built on traditional Long Island Lacrosse Club values (the old fashion way)
The values we teach our youth are:
Commitment
  • Joining our program means a player commits to himself to always work hard and make lacrosse a priority
  • Family comes first-lacrosse family included 🙂
  • Players commit to their teammates to show up with their best self, which starts with a positive attitude
  • Great attendance is paramount
Sports Senses, not robots
  • Lacrosse is a dynamic game requiring athletes to think and react quickly
  • We want our players to develop senses of the game, not be told every second how to react
  • This development is a journey, but equips players with the right lacrosse foundation for their future
An unselfish team is a winning team
  • Each player's success is a product of what we achieve together
Always Earned, Never Given
  • Like anything in life, you get out what you put into it
Respect and sportsmanship
  • We respect ourselves, each other, and our opponents
  • Humble in victory, gracious in defeat
Be competitive and mentally tough
  • Strong competition makes us better, and we embrace that
  • Players with the most focus and heart will always be winners regardless of the scoreboard.
